We’ve kept something pretty big off social media for the past few months, but after visiting the Doctor’s rooms a few weeks back, we decided that it was time to share it with the Mother Muses Fam, and anyone else who might be going through a similar journey.
My husband was diagnosed in October 2018 with renal failure – meaning that his kidneys had stopped working as they should, and he would need a transplant. Your kidneys do a lot of what I like to call ‘the dirty work’ in your body – they remove waste and filter liquids. They also control chemicals and fluids in your body, help control your blood pressure and help make red blood cells. There is no cure for this – if you’re in renal failure, the only way around it is a transplant, or dialysis (which has various complications, and cannot function as a kidney would anyway).Continue reading “Kidney Transplant”
